MTA is collaborating with ASAS and EY in holding a Shariah empowerment seminar focusing on ESG. ESG, or Environmental, Social, and Governance, represents a set of criteria used by investors and stakeholders to assess a company’s performance in areas such as environmental impact, social responsibility, and corporate governance. As a participant in the Takaful industry, understanding the specific impact of Environmental, Social, and Governance factors is crucial for ensuring the sustainability and ethical foundation of our operations. This session will explore how integrating ESG practices aligns with the principles of Shariah.

Upon attending this awareness session, the outcome should be that the Shariah fraternity understand what is ESG and how it relates to Shariah. The target audience of this session are the staff from Shariah Department, Shariah Audit, Shariah Risk Management, Shariah Compliance, Shariah Governance as well as the Shariah Committee members of takaful operators.
